VANDA 'Yellow Sander'

Vanda Yellow Sander is a hybrid of Vanda Sanderiana x Vanda Vivian. Vanda Sanderiana is known as 'The queen of the Philippine Orchids' and is extensively used in hybridisation.

Photo: VANDA 'Yellow Sander' displayed at Cochin Flower Show. The spike carries up to 12 flowers. The flowers are round and are like its parent Sanderiana, the colour is from Vivian.

Does anyone have a natural treatment for fungus in Orchids?

No natural remedies are as good as fungicides for treatment of fungi. Two natural remedies widely used are the following

a) Fungi thrive in wet conditions. Allow the soil to dry mildly before watering

b) Cinnamon powder is a good prevention for fungal growth. Powdered cinnamon is springled on new divisions and in the medium

These are more effective as prevention rather than cure of fungi.
